Call for Applications to Host Future ENIUGH Congresses
Call for Applications to Host Future ENIUGH CongressesENIUGH invites applications from its members to host the next European Congresses on World and Global History in spring 2028 and in 2031.
Every three years, ENIUGH convenes the European Congress on World and Global History, jointly organised by the ENIUGH headquarters and a local organiser/organising committee. Since the inaugural congress in 2005, the ENIUGH Congress has developed into a leading meeting place for scholars working in the rapidly evolving fields of world, global, and transnational history, as well as related disciplines. The Congress provides a forum for researchers to present and discuss their latest findings, exchange ideas, and share new approaches to the organisation of teaching and research. Previous congresses have been hosted in Leipzig, Dresden, London, Paris, Budapest, Turku, The Hague, and Växjö.
Members interested in hosting a future ENIUGH Congress are invited to submit their application by email to eniughhe@rz.uni-leipzig.de by 31 October 2026. The ENIUGH Board will review all applications and notify applicants of its decision during the first week of December 2026.
Drawing on the experience of previous congresses, we have prepared a questionnaire to help prospective hosts assess whether their institution has the necessary capacity and infrastructure to organise the Congress. The questionnaire also provides guidance on the structure and content of the application. Please indicate in your application whether you would prefer to host the congress in 2028 or in 2031.
